This week we
investigated “A Solid changing to a liquid”. We used ice cubes positioned in different
places around the classroom including one placed on the outside window ledge and
we observed how quickly they changed. The children noticed the shrinking size
of the cubes and the amount of water remaining on the plate. The children are now
using the vocabulary when talking and writing about our experiments. More experiments
next week.
Maths
We practised
times tables and managed to ‘test’ their ability to recall the facts; both in
sequence and by answering random question. We played a dice game which required
quick thinking and using all 4 operations to work out answers on the grid and
win the game !
Literacy
We continued our Myths and Quests literacy
Unit [topic]. We focused on elements of myths including the hero, the
monster or mythical creature and the setting. Next week will be working on
planning and then using the planning to write our own Myths. Thank you for your
support in helping the children to prepare [ Big Write ].
