Book Week hits BISB!
and what wonderful week
we’ve had!
The incredible author
illustrator David Lucas kick-started our week with a special session in 3
Sahara where we were treated to stories of his along with learning the secret
of his drawing style and the opportunity to each create a character for a book
of our own! Using his new book ’Grendel – A cautionary tale about chocolate’ which we chose to
link in with our current Topic, we had great fun decorating our door with chocolate
delights this week. Other highlights of the week included D.E.A.R. (Drop
Everything And Read) all week long, buddy reading with 1 Apple and Reception
Ladybirds and sharing great book recommendations with the class. We also became our own author illustrators and designed a book
cover, spine and wrote a blurb for our own story idea using the character we each created
with David Lucas. Parent stories throughout the week were a very special treat,
as was the Book Fair, Book at Bedtime and dressing up as our favourite book
characters today certainly topped off what has been a brilliant book week!
Looking ahead to next
week, a reminder that the KS2 swimming gala is on Tuesday morning so 3 Sahara
will require their swimming kit on both Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. The Gala will be held in the swimming complex
of Római Teniszakadémia (Budapest, 1039 Királyok útja 105) with Years 3 races
taking place from 11.20 to 12.25. We
hope to see you there on Tuesday.
Have a wonderful restful
weekend.
