Big Write/Talk
Homework this week
Please note that there is no 'Talk Homework' this week leading
to a new piece of writing.
This is because over the last few weeks we have been analysing, deconstructing, reconstructing and planning our own quest myths.
We are now at a stage where we are ready to write but as with the theory of 'Big Write' children must REALLY know their story before they put pencil to paper.
Therefore please spend your Talk Homework time this week focusing on your child's quest myth. The sections they must clearly know are:
Opening
Problem
Build up
Main event
Resolution
Ending
They should be giving detailed descriptions of their hero, the settings they visit and any mythical creatures they encounter.
This is a chance for your child to tell you a story, so put the kettle on, sit back and enjoy!
